Hey folks,
Welcome back. Hope you are doing well and also enjoyed the insane drama playing out at OpenAI with the CEO first being fired and then after some turbulent days reinstated. Who needs tv-shows when reality is like this…

Building a moodboard generating GPT
Let’s jump back in time a bit - shortly before this drama started unfolding, OpenAI held a developer day introducing their roadmap and launching some super interesting new features and tools. One of them is the GPT builder, the ability to create your own customized GPTs based on OpenAIs llm.
As a follower of this newsletter you know that I have been using the platform POE.com to build my llm bots so far. I will surely keep using POE as I love the ability to use different llms, not just those provided by OpenAI.
BUT the GPT builder by OpenAI has an amazing feature - it is multimodal. Being able to communicate not just via words, but also via images using DALL-E 3.
In human terms: It can see and paint :-)
So what to do with it? Well one of my creations so far is Moodboard Maven:
What does it do - well pretty much what it says - here is an example conversation and output:
I am really quite impressed at how good the newest version of DALL-E has become. It is still not at the level of Midjourney, but it is definitively getting closer! The step by step process of Moodboard Maven is something I input as a requirement while building the bot. The GPT builder works in a dialogue with the user, creating a rather advanced prompt from very basic input.
But it was not all working and I was able to improve the performance of the bot significantly by applying some of the prompt-engineering techniques I have developed over the last months. So for the foreseeable future i guess prompt engineering will still be a thing I guess.
And you can use the bot as inspiration for your own prompting of image generating AI as well, just ask Moodboard Maven for the prompt it used:
Now you are asking - can I try this magic tool of yours? And the answer is of course:
YES! Just click on the image below:
And if you really want to see this doc about Kafka now I also have good news. My company DRIVEbeta is in the middle of shooting it.
Something I Loved This Week
Nick Cave wrote a letter about ChatGPT and human creativity. And to give you a spoiler: He is not a fan :-)
