Happy new year and welcome back to the /promptcollective newsletter!
Throughout the last few editions of this newsletter I have been teasing productions by my company DRIVE beta revolving around creative uses of generative AI.
The first of these productions is now LIVE 🚀🚀🚀 and can be seen here: Better than Human? (German language)
What is it?
In the Social Experiment Documentary “Better than human?” we try to answer the question: Can AI chatbots take over for humans when it comes to highly delicate and emotional interactions?
Spoiler: Yes —> for more details go watch the film!
To create the TV program, we developed a tech platform in-house based on the openai API as well as a prompt-terminal to give the abstract topic of AI a physical manifestation.
The backend is designed so that non-technical users can prompt AI-persons inputting descriptions as well as choosing settings on variables such as “creativity”. The AI persons were created with the help of a human priest, psychologist, and best friend.

The front-end is used by our protagonists to interact with the AI-persons. Our protagonists were all going through highly emotional periods in their lives: Pregnancy, the death of a close person, and acute loneliness. Here are some interaction screenshots from our church setting:
To reflect on the question of the film on an ongoing basis we introduced a reaction layer:

I suspect that we’ll be seeing several more TV shows incorporating AI in innovative ways shortly, some will even be from DRIVE beta. “Better Than Human?“ is an attempt at exploring capabilities generally thought of as Human, and I would love to hear what you think about it and am very much looking forward to your comments!
We will continue experimenting with AI at DRIVE beta in 2024 - always guided by the question: What can we create with AI, that was not possible before?
If you want to learn more or discuss possible collaborations, feel free to reach out!
Bye for now
